The world's largest, most complete, and best preserved Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Size: 42 feet (12.8 meters) long, 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall at the hip, weight: 7 tons (6.4 metric tons) when alive.
Time: late Cretaceous Period, 67-65 million years ago. Discovered: Hell Creek Formation of western South Dakota, August 12, 1990.
Sex: Unknown. Sue is named for Susan Hendrickson, fossil hunter who discovered Sue. We refer to Sue as a 'she' because of her name, not because of her sex.
